Universal: Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf

Working closely with director, Olivia Cappuccini, on the visuals for Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf was a meaningful experience for our team. This powerful documentary shines a light on the life and activism of Munroe Bergdorf, a transgender model and advocate who has faced relentless media scrutiny and targeted hate. Through our visual contributions, we wanted to showcase the intensity of her story, capturing both the strength of her voice and the toxic barrage of attacks she continues to endure.

Love & Rage: Munroe Bergdorf – Graphics Reel

Social Media:
For the sequences involving Munroe’s social media presence, we created a close-up, and rapid cut screen aesthetic to reflect the overwhelming and often aggressive nature of the online harassment directed at her. The fast-paced editing style was designed to immerse the viewer in the constant, unrelenting flood of transphobic vitriol and media attacks that have been a defining part of her experience. Each post was intentionally close up and jarring to mirror the barrage of hate and scrutiny that Munroe faces on a daily basis.

By using harsh, abrupt transitions, we aimed to communicate not just the sheer volume of negativity, but also the emotional toll it takes to live under such constant public pressure. This visual style helped reinforce the toxic environment of transphobic culture wars that Munroe navigates while standing firm in her activism and advocacy for equality.

News Headlines:
To create a powerful visual impact for the news articles, we designed a stylised presentation that unified the various headlines under a bold, cohesive aesthetic. We placed the headlines against a dark background, allowing them to stand out sharply. Using an almost glowing white and pink color palette, we aimed to draw immediate attention to the harsh and often inflammatory language used in the media’s coverage of Munroe.

Similar to the aesthetic used for the social media posts, the treatment of these headlines was intended to immerse the audience in the toxic media landscape that fuels transphobic narratives and media sensationalism.
