Crime 101

We were delighted to work on Bart Layton’s Crime 101, with Chris Hemsworth and Halle Berry, about an elusive jewel thief (Hemsworth) whose string of heists along the 101 freeway have mystified police. When he eyes the score of a lifetime, his path crosses that of a disillusioned insurance broker (Berry) who is facing her own crossroads. Convinced he has found a pattern, a relentless detective (Mark Ruffalo) is closing in, raising the stakes even higher. As the heist approaches, the line between hunter and hunted begins to blur, and all three are faced with life-defining choices–and the realisation that there can be no turning back.

We worked closely with Bart and editor Julian Hart from the London based edit over several months, working primarily on the films screen designs, with particular focus on screens with narrative elements. We delivered over 50 shots to the final film. It was wonderful working with Bart and the team again, having worked previously together on American Animals. The film is being released February 2026 and we’ll be back thereafter with more of a breakdown on our work throughout the film!
